Multi-Band Template Analysis for detection of signals from compact binary coalescences in LIGO-Virgo-Kagra data

This page documents the offline analysis of O4 LIGO-Virgo-Kagra data to detect signal from coalescences of compact objects using the MBTA code.
The data analysed in this page are from the period from GPStime 1370097052 1371306087. See the Chunk (now looking at chunk02) section for other data-taking periods.

Data quality

Fig 0.1 : Data quality (a value different from 0 means good data)
as a function of time, for the different type of considered coincidences.

The table below summarises the time with good data quality (after CAT1 vetoes are applied, and after gating).

Data segments

Please see the O4 summary page for overall information on data quality (including how the information it was technically retrieved), and the list of good segments (after CAT1 veto subtraction).

(only available when the box is open)

Fig 0.3 : For double and triple coincidences, number of events with IFAR higher than a threshold,
as a function of the threshold value (red points), for all regions (BNS, NSBH, BBH) combined.
The grey band shows the expected distribution, with poissonian errors.
When events with FAR smaller than 1/day are detected in more
than one region, only the event with lower FAR is shown in the plot.

Below are listed all candidates with FAR smaller than 1/day, separately for BNS, BBH, NSBH.

For BNS:

GPS time UTC cRS Detectors IFAR [years] FAR [Hz] mchirp mass1 mass2 SNR H SNR L pBBH pNSBH pBNS iDQ GraceDB

For BBH:

GPS time UTC cRS Detectors IFAR [years] FAR [Hz] mchirp mass1 mass2 SNR H SNR L pBBH pNSBH pBNS iDQ GraceDB

For NSBH:

GPS time UTC cRS Detectors IFAR [years] FAR [Hz] mchirp mass1 mass2 SNR H SNR L pBBH pNSBH pBNS iDQ GraceDB

Definitions, selections etc..

An injection is called detected if there is a detected event within +/- 80 ms of the injected time. If there are several detected events, the one with highest combined ranking statistics (cRS) is chosen. We consider detected events with a minimum cRS of 8.
